City Mapping Made Easy

Profantasy fantasy city tiles for Campaign Cartographer
An example map using the city style - map drawn by Ralf Schemmann

Today Profantasy released my new fantasy city map style for Campaign Cartographer as their March Annual style. You can check out the full details here. The style contains 15 different house shapes, each with a range of colours and roofing, 12 different textures, and a bunch of miscellaneous extras from city walls and turrets to piers and trees.

I’m especially pleased with how the city walls and turrets came out. They can work as city walls, the walls on a compound, or even the structure in a full blown castle. Check out the full set, and the other example images.

Dungeon Tiles

This month my second tileset for Profantasy has been released. The June 2011 Annual style is a dungeon tileset, with skeletons, treasure, lava, dark pits and sarcophagi. Your players can wade through fields of poisoned mushrooms or sit down for dinner on a red leather throne. This set has a solid core of all the things you need to build your villain’s evil lair. Map Tiles! Piles of Treasure! Dragon Skeletons!

Dragon skeleton by Jonathan Roberts for Profantasy fantasy dungeon tile styleThe guys at Profantasy liked the March CC3 style so much that they asked me to do a tile set for a fantasy dungeon style. The pack contains all the standards you’d expect – tables, chairs, doors, stairs – as well as some that are a little more unusual – mushrooms, a corpse, and a Dragon skeleton (yes, I’m really pleased with that one). Some of you who follow my twitter feed may have seen a few sneak peaks from the Dragon Skeleton and now I can publicly admit where it comes from.

The dungeon style will make up the June 2011 Annual style and the guys at Profantasy have put up a great little preview for you to check out. They have a couple of higher resolution samples in the annual style gallery. I’m really looking forward to being able to show off all the elements in this pack, it’s looking great.

Annual Style for Profantasy

I talked a little earlier about the upcoming Annual Style for Profantasy. It’s out now as the March Annual style so I can show off a little more of the work.

The guys at Profantasy used the style to recreate the world of Caera map for the Dungeonslayers free RPG. It’s surprising, and flattering, to see my work in some else’s map. Click the image for a larger version:

Edit: Looks like the image is no longer available.

I’m really pleased with the results they’re getting with this tileset. If you download the annual style let me know how you get on!
